The best parties are the ones done at home!

It used to be that way growing up. There was no need to dress up, except maybe for the birthday celebrant. The kids in the neighborhood would show up wearing their house clothes. Nothing fancy back then! A homemade chocolate cake with candles, a galloon of ice cream, and a bottle of coke were the high light of the celebration.

It’s so different now! A big birthday celebration would mean renting a place, hiring party entertainers and a photographer of course (that’s where I come in by the way). When I get to photograph a birthday celebration done at home, it brings me back to those days. There is something very organic about it. Simple no matter how lavish the decoration may be.

Sharing with you the photos I took a few weeks ago when Chloe turned eight. First Of April did a wonderful job decorating the place. She always does that by the way. Like a fairy godmother, she whips out her wand and casts a spell, and turns it into something magical.
