Sabrina's Birthday Shoot

I don’t get to do this often. A styled birthday session for little humans turning one is so rare nowadays. The business of photography changed its landscape. I’ve been here for more than a decade. Some trends don’t stay too long. Others stay awhile, but then something new comes along. It keeps on changing! One has to adapt if one wants to stay in business.

But then there’s me.

A photo session out in the open where I could take pictures as candidly as possible. Nature is my element! I did try doing a studio session, I’d feel like I couldn’t breathe. It felt like a rope clasped my hand and the four corners of the room contained me.

When I did Sabrina’s birthday session before she turned a year old, we were under a big Acacia tree. It was styled, but it was out there in the open. My soul was full when we concluded the shoot. I didn’t feel like I didn’t give it my all.
