Two more days to go and we bid farewell to twenty eighteen. It was a good year for me! I think I had the perfect work-life balance. I gave up so many too – people and things. I gave up running and cycling and gave more time for my Yoga practice. I simplified LIFE because it was getting crowded and noisy.  This year I emptied closets and gave away things (clothes, bags, even my bike) I no longer needed. I now enjoy how uncluttered our home (and my mind) is. I slowly taught myself the art of unattachment to things. SELF LOVE was my mantra for this year. I am far from my goal, but I am slowly getting there.

I look back at my Starbucks 2018 planner and tallied the shoots I had this year. Twenty-one weddings, nineteen families, seventeen couple and engagement sessions, and twenty birthday shoots! I am still here ten years or so after doing everything with a heart full of zest. I do get tired but the kind of tired that makes me want to reset and do it all over again. Totally different from giving up! This year though I made it a point to attract clients who will continually fill my cup and enrich my soul for the quest of a better ME. I used to worry whenever I look at a half-empty work calendar. I don’t anymore! I don’t want to work half-heartedly.

So, here I am, looking at 2019 full of hope. But before the year ends let me share Alfred and Loriemae’s wedding last December 1. I enjoyed documenting their big day. Everything was a breeze! I can still remember Loriemae’s messages to me. She said she wanted their engagement session to be THEM – spontaneous, candid, light, fun. From that moment on, I knew they were MINE. Because that is what I want to capture too!

LET’S DO YOU! For next year, my biggest WISH is to meet more couples who want the same thing.

Happy New Year!
