I do: Earl and Rose
She sang to him and he started tearing up, I knew that it was THAT kind of love. You know the i-can’t-live-a-day-without-you kind of love.
I didn’t get to meet Rose and Earl before their big day. I took it upon myself to stalk Rose’s Facebook. I wanted to have a glimpse of their story. I was thankful for the group chat she created. She wrote about how it all started. I used to take those for granted specifically for couples who opt to go for the service only (I Do) photo package. I feel that I need a personal connection with my clients. It’s easier to paint them in photographs.
Twenty fifteen is coming to a close. I have already started making a list of the things I want to do and change for next year. One of those is to make sure I don’t over work myself. I need to find that balance work, family, and me time. It has been a constant struggle. For me to be effective at what I do (by not sacrificing creativity and work quality), I need to pace myself. Quality clients over quantity. I want a long-lasting relationship with the people I photograph.
I have also published the new pricing. I battled with myself for the longest time to maintain my rates or go for a price increase. As much as I want to, I can’t anymore! I have upgraded all inclusions (albums, quality prints, photo boxes). I painstakingly made an excel file to show the numbers. I have dissected cost and have squeezed pricing to come up with an acceptable but not at all down there photography rate. And of course it is not just about taking pictures! Everything in me is out there when I work.
Next year will be different! I’ll aim for QUALITY over QUANTITY. I will continue to wish and pray for clients who will help me grow in my craft and as a creative individual. I hope to meet people who will touch my life not just temporarily but for a long time. I pray to journey with my clients by being there to take their pictures from engagement to when they say their I do, maternity sessions, first grand family session, and birthdays, even anniversaries. It’s a tall order to ask, but that is where I want to go.
Here are some photos of Rose and Earl’s wedding.
